What is a good day in my world? Here I will share…a day in which I get to sleep in just a bit (til 9:30AM thanks to kids that decide to play instead of fight), I wash/fold/put away 4 loads of laundry (and still counting), the kids are so quiet that we can go into James Avery and receive a compliment from the lady behind the counter that my “children are very well behaved” – a rarity to be honest! -, we hit a park that happens to be completely empty and play for a good 30 minutes (the longest I could stand the freezing, cold wind that was whipping around), followed by a quick trip to Starbucks for hot chocolates and a shared giant cookie, then home for more playtime in which my children continue to play well together with no tattling or melt-downs
This, my friends, is a good day in the land of Jennifer!
So, here’s wishing that all of your days in 2008 are just as good as mine was today. Happy New Year everyone!!!!!!

Hey – saw your comment on the potty thing at my house…I got they Royal Potty by Fisher Price at Target for about $20. They have another one that “flushes” and has toilet paper, but that just looked like a massive disaster at my house, so we went with this one. So far today, we’ve done nothing but take the entire thing apart about a zillion times and hidden the various pieces around the house, but at least he’s in underwear and TOUCHING the potty. I’ve set the timer for every 20 minutes and we make an effort to go, but so far nothing. Should be an interesting day. I put him in regular underwear but a REALLY THICK pair of pants, and not necessarily because of the weather, haha.
Travis fully trained about 3 weeks before he turned 3. I never fully understood what the big deal was about potty training until Tyler. And I simply cannot drink enough coffee or take enough deep breaths to deal with this most of the time – it is the Type A/perfectionist/OCD part of me coming through.
I did talk to a couple of the moms in my class at school who said their daughters – both VERY bright and VERY advanced – didn’t train until this past summer when they were almost FIVE. One turned 5 in September and the other was 5 in October. So, all is not lost.
Keep me posted on your progress with Ian. By the way, Tyler’s now saying he wanted the DIEGO seat at Target for about $11. Of course he does, because it isn’t what we have. *sigh*

Hi, Jenn! I am so glad for you; I want to get up and do the “happy dance”. Then I’m going to follow it up with the “Pleeeeeaaaaase rub off on my children next” dance! Just when I start to relax and think that things are going well, something like the past two days pops up and knocks me off of my rocker! Whew!
BTW, we know each other…just didn’t want to post my name…..visit my site when you can….

That sounds like a wonderful day! (Especially the well-behaved kids part…I love it when the stars align and my kids have a day like that.) It had all the great elements: a sense of accomplishment, a trip to the park, and a giant cookie!
