Cracked Pipes

The verdict.  We had no less than 2 cracked pipes directly underneath the upstairs bath, and one of them was not a ‘sewage’ pipe and would have had to have been replaced at some point anyway!  So, we now have 2 new pipes, a new bathtub faucet and knobs (since they were leaking into the wall)….and a giant 3 foot by 1 foot hole in the ceiling of our living room!

Plumber repair completed – check!

Sheetrock repair / Painting – to be determined!

  1. Wow, that was FAST! Around here, we’d get the “When we get to your town, we’ll fix it” and see them about 3 days later, haha.

  2. Hurray for finally pinning down the source of that leak and getting it fixed! Sorry about the hole in your ceiling, though. Maybe you could knock it through the roof, too, and put in a skylight?

  3. I’m so glad you got that fixed! Now I won’t have to be so paranoid everytime I take a shower upstairs that the tub and I won’t be falling thru the ceiling and landing in the middle of your living room adding to your “viewing pleasure”. :) Whew!

These are the moments, however, when you are so thankful that you’re renting and not owning!! I know that I miss owning my home, but when something goes terribly wrong, I love that it means a phone call and NO CHECKBOOK!
